A Walk in the Park" Journaling in watercolor with pen & ink
Don Taylor has journeyed all over the world with his sketchbook creating small masterpieces that capture the sights and emotions of the scene he is experiencing. He loves to share his knowledge with his students.
His paintings employ a combination of realism and impressionism, with a touch of abstract design. Teaching students to evoke the same feeling to the viewer that they felt when first seeing the subject, the sense that there is more to the subject than a mere rendering. Lights, darks, bold colors, lost edges, and more hopefully come together to recreate that feeling. Applying the illusion of detail so that viewers can use their imagination to complete the image. Students become adept at Don's less is more. philosophy.
